How to Make Candy With Saltine Crackers www.valentinoshoesvip.com Hi, I'm Kevin Wray from Peterbrooke Chocolatier here in beautiful Winter Park, Florida, and today, we're gonna teach you how to make candy out of saltine crackers, caramel and chocolate. This is a fantastic recipe, and also easy to make. To begin with, I'm gonna take our saltine crackers and just leave them in the tube, and start to crush 'em. You wanna leave them in fairly large pieces 'cause you wanna make sure you get some chunks in your caramel, it's as simple as that. I'm gonna go ahead and set aside a cup of these to add to my one pound of caramel, kay. Now, I'm gonna melt my caramel in the microwave. Okay, now we have our caramel melted, and we're gonna add our one cup of crushed saltine crackers. We're gonna stir this gently to incorporate, but we really don't wanna break up our crackers any more than we have already. Once we're thoroughly mixed, I'm gonna go ahead and pour it on the marble here and let it cool down until a point where it's pliable to work with. You want it where it won't stick to gloved hands so you're able to form it easier. And that should take about five minutes. Okay, our caramel has now cooled to a point where it's pliable and not sticking to my gloves. Now, if you don't have a marble surface, you can always use a piece of parchment paper, or like a glass cutting board. From here, I'm gonna roll our caramel into a nice tube and then I'm gonna start cutting off about half inch pieces. Now we're gonna set our caramel pieces aside on a piece on a piece of parchment paper to cool in the fridge for about 15 minutes. Okay, now that our caramel has had a chance to set up, I'm gonna go ahead and dip it in our milk chocolate. Now, we've already tempered this, and most people find it easiest just to use a fork. Just drop it in, tuck it under the surface, lift it up and give it a good tap on the edge. Scrape this bottom and gently put it on your tray Now just continue this 'til they're all done. Now, once you've dipped all these, just put 'em back in the fridge for about 15 minutes to set up and enjoy, you're done!
